Challenges

Life is full of challenges,

We can embrace them,

Or let them “drag” us down,

it’s a new year, so we need to be

Ready to create and write new stories Just like a butterfly when it changes form,

It starts so tiny but emerges into something truly

Its beautiful, imprinting everything it touches

So lets those creative juices flowing

Making memories that we can reflect on

& even learn from

But change is necessary,

Unless we realize that

Getting out of our comfort zone

Is not something we want to do,

But somehow, we find in the end

It was worth it,

We can be like a butterfly when it changes form,

It starts so tiny but emerges into something truly

beautiful, imprinting everything it touches,

May we as go along this new year, we need to take on life’s challenges

& changes,

Leaving the imprints of our experiences to reflect on in the future.

Intellectual Pauses

Well as one goes through life,
we have moments when we
can't remember what happened yesterday
or even what happened a few minutes ago
this seems to happen as the silver highlights
increase,
some may call them senior moments,
not sure why, we have them
but a very wise friend advised me that these
moments are more appropriately called
Intellectual Pauses....
meaning that we are still so smart, we are just having
a break, not to overdo things,
well that's my theory anyway,
not sure if that's the right theory.
but I have noticed that sometimes
I have many of these moments,
depending on the day I guess..
for example I forget where I put something
or why I went into a room to find that something
I then have to re trace where I have been
& then all of a sudden---my intellectual pause
has cleared.....
what a relief....
but whatever you call these moments,
at least one can have a laugh about them
because many of us do have this problem or
is it a problem?
maybe brain or memory refreshment...
enjoy them, just smile....
show how clever we are
those intellectual pauses....

I felt something,
a gentle touch,
I could see,
a glow, light shining,
I heard a whisper,
soft & gentle,
I could feel
a gentle breeze,
wrapping itself
around me,
purple reflections,
imprinted inside,
sounds hardly heard,
in the stillness....

opaque reflections...

opaque visions,
imprinted, colours,
gentle breeze,
changing,
light, darkness,
peace, growing,
reaching,
imprinting
opaque reflections....

Silhouettte

mist, coolness,
eerie silence,
piercing darkness,
creeping shadows,
silhouetted mysteries...

Isolation

rain, cold,
darkness, silence,
questions, hurt,
scarred heart,
imprinted....
isolation...

feeling lost, alone,
dark, unsure,
swirling, needing
trying to find answers,
heart burning,
why, why,
someone hear me
listen, to my plea,
all I hear is silence,
reassurance,
where are you?
deep calls unto deep
waterfalls flow over me,
my inner being, trying
to find, light
refreshment,
renewal, peace,
hope, reaching, reaching,
skyward, higher
into the eternal light....

two mums, with two stories,

long & winding roads,
two mums, same month,
memories entwined,
into the winds of time,
the scent of freesias & roses
fill the air,
strong love,
funny sayings,
always remembered,

a laugh, a bird,
a radiant cloud,
so many ways to reflect

Two acts of kindness...

It was a cool day,
as I watched, many stories were being
written into the day
I recall two of them,
the first being of two people sharing love & care
for someone who had pain inside of his body,
but his soul smiled,
you could see through his smile,
that this young man
really appreciated the care & love
being shown to him,
Im sure he has a story to tell,
one to inspire & touch the heartstrings....






The other story
was this kindly gentleman,
who smiled radiantly,
he obviously enjoyed his job,
As I approached him,
He reached into his car,
taking out this huge umbrella,
His gentle smile said take this,
keep dry,
He then proceeded to inform
my waiting lift,
that I was ready,
He walked calmly
through the rain,
He then waited till I was
safely inside the car,
I thanked him profusely
I was so touched by this
gesture, was kind,
that one act, really made my day.
just show a little kindness, you never know who
you'll touch....

both of these stories will be with me for a very long time...

life

Life is a journey,
all of us walking different roads,
one direction, then another,
not knowing where we will be,
as we go, our story is forever
etched into the clouds of time,
some journeys are filled with rain,
others have rain & sunshine,
even others say they have roses
with the knarled stems,
but the soft green foliage
ease the hurt,
our lives are a book,
each page, & chapter
are written in eternal ink
for all to see & remember

I looked around me,
it was dark & slightly cool,
My eyes were drawn
