eternal hope

The seed was planted,
it was nurtured and watered
as the stems grew
the branches became knarled and rough
the growing was hard
light shone from above
creating diamonds
on the soft green leaves
quenching the dry places inside
finding refreshment and renewal
as the plant grew stronger
finally reaching skyward
revealing a sweet fragrant bloom
of eternal hope and peace.
